A film starts as an idea. A producer helps turn that idea into a finished movie audiences can actually see. In 2026, Sam Dever, also credited as Samuel Dever, took on that job across three very different Andromedia Studios features: Sorority Shark Attack, Storm Warning and Lake Patrol.
The trio spans creature-feature mayhem, a horror thriller and a comedy rooted in Canadian cottage country. Each asks for a different tone and a different kind of production push. Together, they show the range of an emerging producer building momentum across genre movies and independent film production.
Three films, three distinct challenges

Sorority Shark Attack: creature-feature chaos
What happens when a getaway becomes a fight for survival? In Sorority Shark Attack, university students must defend their Canadian cabin retreat from a genetically modified bull shark. It is a high-concept creature feature with a clear audience promise: danger on the lake, friends under pressure and a very large reason to stay out of the water.
Produced by Sam Dever, the comedy-horror film was written by Bill Dever and directed by David Langlois. The production filmed at Rice Lake, just south of Peterborough, combining practical effects with CGI to bring its shark attack to life. Its cast includes Robert Carradine, Kate Mayhew, Marc Rico Ludwig, Elle Rose, Sarah Iranca, Paul Matte, Lee J. Poichuk, Martin Egas and Drew Antzis. Michael Jari Davidson lensed the film.
Principal photography concluded in October 2025, and post-production wrapped on March 16, 2026. A theatrical release is planned. Read the post-production announcement or visit the film’s Andromedia slate page.

Storm Warning: horror built for the big screen
A different kind of pressure drives Storm Warning. This horror thriller, written by Bill Dever and directed by Drew Antzis, was filmed in Guelph with cinematography by Jack Peresin. Its cast is led by Kate Mayhew and Marc Rico Ludwig, alongside Curtis Harrison, Eddie Curry, Lambros Bryan Demos, Jemilla Mills-Smith, Ross Mullan and Rick Bland.
The production completed principal photography and announced its completion on June 2, 2026. Sam Dever described the finished film as an intense, atmospheric thriller that “honors classic horror traditions while feeling utterly fresh and contemporary.” He also highlighted the cast and crew’s dedication and the film’s aim to bring passionate horror audiences into cinemas.
That combination, familiar genre appeal with a fresh approach, is a strong fit for Andromedia’s audience-facing slate. Read the Storm Warning completion announcement and see the project page.

Lake Patrol: cottage-country comedy with room to grow
In Lake Patrol, greedy developers threaten a beloved Ontario lake. An unlikely militia of chronically inebriated beavers and a crew of wacky lakeside residents push back. It is a comedy with a big, playful hook, and a distinctly local setting with broad summer appeal.
Produced by Samuel Dever, written by Bill Dever and directed by Drew Antzis, the film stars Izzy Carter, Matthew Gallagher Heakes, Eddie Curry and Lambros Bryan Demos. Principal photography took place on Rice Lake near Roseneath, Ontario, from September 7 to 29, 2026, with production support from Alpine Resort. The studio announced the completion of principal photography on October 2.
The project also takes a deliberate dual-format approach: it is designed as both a feature-length theatrical release and an episodic television series. Sam Dever has called it a “love letter to cottage country,” describing a comedy with heart, a real villain and underdogs worth cheering for.
That format gives the story two planned ways to meet audiences. The first is a feature; the second, a series that can keep its lake community going. Read the dual-format announcement, the principal photography update, or visit the Andromedia project page.
A producer’s toolkit built across media
Sam Dever’s path into feature production began long before this slate. His media career spans roughly 15 years, starting in college, when he made music and vlogs using early digital tools and documented the creative process. Over time, he moved into interviewing and producing online shows, building experience across music, acting, directing and marketing.
“It’s been a constant evolution,” Dever has said. “Each project has added a new layer to my understanding of storytelling, production, and audience engagement.”
That wide-angle experience continues through Sam Dever Productions, the Los Angeles-based multimedia production company he founded in 2022. Its tagline, “Bringing visions to life,” sums up a business that works across podcast development, film and video production, social media strategy, and graphic and web design. A Mentors Collective profile describes the company as an extension of Dever’s cross-disciplinary media work.
The company’s projects include The Sam Dever Podcast, a long-form conversation show with actors, artists, entrepreneurs and creative professionals. Its focus is the reality of the creative path, not just the highlight reel, and it has passed 145 episodes, with new episodes released every Monday. Dever also developed Produce Your Passion, a speaking, workshop and event platform aimed at helping creatives move from ideas to action. The Social Media Show, hosted by Asia Jade and Vegas Wayne, is another part of the lineup. A docuseries following Dever’s life in Los Angeles and the people he collaborates with is in development.
“Every project is about more than just the final product,” Dever has said. “It’s about working with people who share the same energy and passion for making something great.”
From Illinois to Los Angeles
Originally from Canton, Illinois, Dever grew up playing basketball and spent two years at Spoon River Community College. He graduated from Western Illinois University in 2009 with a degree in Marketing, then moved to Tucson, Arizona. He spent almost eight years in Las Vegas, immersing himself in music, media production, interviewing and acting, before moving to Los Angeles in February 2018.
In November 2020, a severe leg injury while jogging on a hiking trail began a long recovery. Dever has said the experience gave him a new perspective and deeper gratitude, reminding him not to take any moment for granted. That perspective connects naturally with the idea behind Produce Your Passion: making creative visions real is central to his sense of purpose, and he wants to help others do the same.
Outside of production, he advocates for health and fitness and makes time for weight training, yoga, walking and hiking. The work ethic is not a slogan; it runs through a career built by continuing to learn, create and collaborate.
The engine behind the slate
A slate needs more than three loglines. It needs people who can keep different kinds of projects moving while giving each one a clear identity. Sam Dever’s 2026 Andromedia work ranges from practical-effects creature-feature thrills to horror and a comedy with a dual-format plan. The variety is the point. Each film has its own hook, and each brings a different flavor of independent genre filmmaking to the screen.
For fans, that means three distinct invitations: face the shark, endure the storm and join the beavers at the barricades. For filmmakers and industry partners, it is a look at a producer bringing experience in storytelling, digital media production and audience engagement to a growing feature slate.
